History
Camino Medical Group brings more than 50 years of dedication and medical expertise to the community. The group was founded in 1954 as the Sunnyvale Medical Clinic Inc. In 1994, after years of progressive growth, the Sunnyvale Medical Clinic changed its name to the Camino Medical Group in conjunction with the development of an integrated delivery system with El Camino Hospital. In 1997, Camino Medical Group was restructured as an independent entity, separate from the hospital. In 2000, CMG joined the Palo Alto Medical Foundation, an affiliate of Sutter Health, to expand its range of services. The Camino region of PAMF is structured as a community-based organization focused on delivering the highest quality health care services, patient education and health care research.

Services
Camino Medical Group offers 35 medical subspecialties and a full range of services to meet the health needs of the community. The specialties include oncology, urgent care, general surgery, vision care, nutritional counseling, infusion therapy, travel medicine, sports medicine and much more. CMG physicians admit patients to El Camino Hospital. CMG contracts with most leading HMO and PPO insurance plans.

Key Statistics
Camino Medical Group sees more than 600,000 patients each year, covers approximately 200,000 patient lives, delivers more than 2,500 babies, and performs more than 22,000 surgeries (outpatient and at participating hospitals). The group is comprised by more than 250 physicians and more than 1,000 clerical and administrative support staff.

The annual operating budget is $239 million. In addition, philanthropic contributions from our donors are made available for specific capital projects and operating initiatives.
