What is an Audiologist?
Audiologists are licensed health care professionals who evaluate, diagnose and treat people with hearing loss, balance disorders and communication problems. Audiologists are specially trained in the evaluation of hearing, the effects of hearing on communication, and the rehabilitation of hearing loss.
The staff of the Camino Medical Group Audiology Department gives individual attention and professional support to those seeking help for hearing loss and related disorders. CMG has four certified audiologists who are state-licensed to practice audiology and dispense hearing aids. All CMG audiologists have received graduate degrees from accredited institutions. They have completed a full-time internship and passed rigorous competency examinations as required by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), before receiving a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A). Every audiologist must abide by the ASHA code of ethics.
