Caring for the community is at the heart of what we do at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation (PAMF). Our participation in activities that benefit the communities we serve goes well beyond the walls of our health care centers, reaching out to those who need us the most. In 2007, PAMF provided $12.4 million in services for the poor and underserved, and $4.8 million in community benefits for the broader community.

PAMF has Community Advisory Councils in the following communities: Dublin, Fremont, Mountain View/Sunnyvale, Palo Alto, Santa Cruz and Southern San Mateo County (Redwood City, San Carlos/Belmont). Council members provide advice and information about the health needs of the community, existing health-related programs that merit Foundation support, the need for new community programs, opportunities for collaboration on health-related community programs, ways to promote our community programs and evalutaing outcomes of Foundation community programs.
