Botox Injections

  • Bruising may develop at injection sites. This usually resolves within 10 days. Do not take aspirin or other anti-inflammatories. Icing can help minimize bruising but do not press hard against the skin. The ice should be held only in light contact with the skin.

  • It is important to stay upright for at least four hours after the injections.

  • Do not rub, massage, or press the skin in the areas that were treated. This may cause the Botox to migrate to other muscles and can cause temporary drooping of the eyelids.

  • If drooping of eyelids does occur, it is temporary and generally resolves within two to three weeks.

  • For the first two hours after receiving injections, contract the muscles that were treated every 15 minutes. Botox attaches better to active muscles.

  • Maximum effect from the treatment will be noticed in approximately two weeks.
