Hand Surgery
Services
People depend on their hands for work, recreation and expression. The successful treatment of any hand disorder will depend on an accurate initial diagnosis. At Camino Medical Group, the Hand Surgery department has incorporated a "team" approach to treat our patients.
Evaluation
The evaluation process begins with an appointment with a member of the Hand team. You will be thoroughly examined to determine the existing problem.
To make an appointment, call 650-934-7111.

Diagnostic Testing
Testing may be necessary during the evaluation process. Many types of tests are available. These include X-Ray, fluoroscopy, MRI, CT, nerve study and bone scan. For more detailed information on the various types of testing, see our Diagnostic Test Information handout (PDF document).
A follow-up appointment is necessary once testing is completed to review test results with your doctor. This appointment should take place seven to 10 days after the testing occurs.

Procedure
Camino Medical Group has four locations where hand surgery is performed. Depending on the needs of each patient, the treatment will occur at the appropriate surgery site.
The In-Office Surgical Suite is located in the Orthopedic department at the Mountain View Center. Procedures not requiring sedation or general anesthesia are typically performed at this location. In preparation for a surgical procedure at the in-office surgical suite location, the Hand team has prepared pre and post-operative instructions which are available through the link below. All pre and post-op information should be reviewed with a doctor prior to any surgical procedure.

Post-Op
A member of our Hand team will follow your progress throughout the post-operative period. It is important to have follow-up appointments as recommended by the surgeon. Patients are encouraged to contact the Hand team with all questions or concerns.
